Latch Hook Fun!

So, did anyone ever do those latch hook projects as a kid? I did, and I actually still have mine. (I think I have both of my sister's too!) Yep, I am one of those people who can't throw away ANYTHING. Well, my kids wanted to do one too, so since it appears that my situation from this summer is at an end, I figured that I ought to get back into letting my kids do some fun projects again. I feel bad that because of outside things that have been happenning to me, that I have neglected to give my children as much attention as I had planned for this summer.

Anyway, TJ picked the swirl of colors. The unicorn and butterfly were too girly for him. He is definitely the perfectionist in the family. I am anal about some stuff, but nothing like TJ. He did such a good job. His little pieces of yarn were exactly the same length. He did get tired of it after about 7 lines though. I am not sure when it will ever get finished.

Tyra on the other hand is not a perfectionist at all. Although, she definitely had the longest attention span with this project. For her age, she really did a great job too. I was really proud of her. She may be the only one to finish hers, so when she does, I will be sure to post a picture of it.

Braxton actually would just hold onto the yarn while I would pull it through. He was happy about that, because he thought he was helping a ton. He only held a few though. So, in the grand scheme of things, this will actually be MY project. Which that is okay, because I DO enjoy doing it. But I am just not sure when I will get it finished. O'well!

I guess since school starts so soon, that this will be the last summer project the kids do. Although, after about 3 1/2 weeks of school, they get two weeks off for harvest break, so we could do more then. I have had so much fun with the kids this summer! It has been so fun doing all of these things with them. It definitely beats having them watch TV all day and then get bored and hear them fight the rest of the day. I hope all of our summers can be as fun as this one has been.
