Tommy was NOT happy in this picture. He had just caught a fish for Braxton and was letting him reel it in, when we looked down and Braxton had been reeling it in the wrong way. A TON of fishing line was all tangled up. Oops!
After we had caught all of those fish, we decided to go over to the shady side and see if we could catch bigger ones.........BAD IDEA! Right when we got out of the car we resprayed ourselves with bug spray and HOLY COW!!! Those dang bugs didn't even care. I was getting eaten alive within minutes. I ran back up and got in the car. Then I see Braxton itching like crazy so I had him get in with me. He snacked on some french fries from earlier in the day.
TJ started scratching too, but he apparently didn't mind, because they all stayed out for about 20 more minutes before we finally left. CRAZY PEOPLE!! Luckily I brought itch medicine with us. But up until the bugs started eating us, we really had lots of fun fishing! I can't wait to go out on the boat next time! Maybe we'll get to sometime on the 4th of July weekend. Who knows???
On our fishing trip we saw a pheasant, some coyotes, a dead porcupine and a deer. We were about 10 feet from the deer. He just sat and stared at us. I hurried and got my camera out and when I rolled down the window to get a better shot, he ran away. It was cool for the kids to see though!

I like to take the kids to the trout ponds. It really helps to build their self esteem when they catch lots of fish, they don't need to know that they are planted in there almost daily and only a complete looser couldn't catch one. You know me, anything to encourage my kids to be their highest and best selves!
Hopefully nobody ends up with west nile virus, that would really suck. But I applaude your dedication, your such a great mom! anybody who would drive 30 miles to get a kid at 2 in the morning because he cant sleep deserves a medal, or at least a brownie button!
