The Spiderwick Chronicles ~~ how SCARY!

So I have this AWESOME friend, Cherie, that has taken the 'Love and Logic' parenting courses too and so she knows the importance of teaching a young child a lesson. Well, if you read my movie post from last week, you will know that Braxton decided not to behave very well at the movies, so this week he didn't get to go. I called my friend up and asked her if we could swap kids for a few hours and I told her the situation. She said, "Do you want me to make him work while he is here?" I started laughing so hard, but then I thought, ya know, that wouldn't be a bad idea. Otherwise, what is the punishment of being able to go to his good friends house and play for a few hours? She said, "Hey, I know ALL about Love and Logic. I took the class!" I thought, GREAT! What an awesome opportunity to teach Braxton a lesson. If he doesn't have fun while we are gone to the movies then maybe he will decide to be good during the next 9 movies that we will be going to this summer. Well, apparently the theatre couldn't get in a few of the movies that they had originally planned, so I had NO idea what the movie was going to be today. Well, it happened to be The Spiderwick Chronicles.

I was so excited because that is a movie that I haven't seen before. TJ and Tyra went and saw it with Grandma Jeanne when she watched them in February while we were away on our anniversary weekend. Well, my friend's son Trey, had never seen it. This was NOT good. He was scared out of his mind. I felt so bad for the little guy. I finally called his mom and asked her if it was okay if he watched it or not. She said it would be fine, so I just tried to console him through the whole thing.
Finally, Tyra reaches over and said, "Here, you can hold my hand so you won't be scared." How cute is that??? I TOTALLY could not help myself and I just HAD to take a picture. The first one was blurry so I took another one. Then some guy sitting behind me yelled at me to quit taking pictures because he couldn't see anything. I felt so dumb, but in the end was still glad I got such a cute picture! I actually really liked the movie, but was REALLY glad Braxton didn't come. I'd hate to give him nightmares now. He has always been my best sleeper. I sure hope Trey is going to be okay. When I went to pick up Braxton, I asked him if he'd rather work some more next week or if he was going to be good and go to the movie with us. He said he wanted to go to the movie, so stay tuned for the result of me trying to teach with Love and Logic Parenting!!
